Police: Scorned roommate slams stolen van into Ferndale home

FERNDALE, Mich. (WJBK) -

Ferndale police say a man with a grudge against his roommate took his revenge with a stolen car.

"I thought I was dreaming," said neighbor Liz Minke.

It was no dream. Instead, a real life drama playing out across the street from Minke's Ferndale home on College St. early Monday morning. "I heard a car revving it's engine, like racing in the street. Then all of the sudden I heard a big clunk," said Minke.

Police say the sound came when Domana Cato rammed a van he stole from Detroit into the home and then took off.

Cato used to live in the home. "They seemed to be awfully good friends, until this happened," said neighbor Larry Nash.

Police were able to track Cato down and get him admit to that he a problem with his roommate and caused the damage to the home.

Now, he faces charges of malicious destruction of property and possession of a stolen vehicle. His bond has been set at $10,000.
