SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -
Ingham County police were dispatched early afternoon after learning of a man's tantrum in the Engineering Building of Michigan State University's campus.
It seemed like a normal Calculus 1 class with Professor John McCarthy. But then something set him off.
Students say he began screaming obscenities and pounding on the walls and windows, even resorting to stripping down to nothing but his socks.
After fifteen minutes the police arrived and arrested the professor. He was taken into custody but then transferred to a local hospital. He is not expected to be charged with any crime.
MSU's Counseling Center has reached out to students to offer any support they may need.
