APS considering Erroll Davis contract extension

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

The Atlanta Public School Board adjourned Monday without making a decision on the future of interim Superintendent Erroll Davis.

A decision will reportedly be made in the next 30-to-45 days whether to extend his contract for two more years.

Davis was hired last July as the school system dealt with the CRCT cheating scandal. He previously served as chancellor of the University System of Georgia.

Davis led the system through redistricting, and that led to several school closings.

State investigators exposed widespread cheating on standardized tests by nearly 180 teachers, principals and staff during the leadership of former Superintendent Dr. Beverly Hall.
