Barbara Starr is experiencing a gaping feeling of emptiness from the death of her stepson,  Bill Starr.

It's just kind of a void, shocking,  speechless kind of feeling. It's like how could it happen."

Just a few weeks ago Barbara and Bill  met over lunch and had a good time celebrating his 73 birthday.

Now Barbara's making calls preparing for Bill's funeral.

""He just had a birthday September 10th and we were planning a trip."

Bill died Friday night when he was pinned beneath this utility truck at the  Parkview Mobile Home Park in Trainer where he lived.

He was sitting on  now broken lawn chairs with two other neighbors when the truck came barreling at them.

Bill survived war in Vietnam, but his friends sitting next to him say he wasn't fast enough to dodge the truck, manned by someone they say may have been drunk driving.

"He's a good friend," said Cheryl Foust. "We lost a good friend."

Police confirmed the suspect is Edward Shaw, who is charged with Third Degree Murder and Driving Under the Influence, among other charges. He is currently held at the Delaware County Prison after failing to post bail. He faces a preliminary hearing October 9th.
