A Long Island man found a small alligator going for a stroll in the front yard Friday morning, police said.

The man, who lives on Moriches Drive in Mastic Beach, grabbed the alligator, dumped it in a plastic storage bin, and called 911, authorities said.

Suffolk County cops responded, taped the alligator's mouth shut, and brought it to Jungle Bob's Repitle World, an exotic pet store, in Centereach, police said.
