Deadly shooting inside Newark restaurant

One person was killed and several people were injured during a shooting in broad daylight inside a restaurant in Newark, New Jersey, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

It was not immediately clear how many people had been shot and what had sparked the shooting.

The gunfire broke out just after 10 a.m. following a dispute between two men,  according to a  report on NJ.com.

Police descended on the three-story building on 18th Ave. and South 13th St. that houses the Down South Kitchen.

SkyFoxHD was over the scene in Newark's West Ward as a K9 unit and investigators searched the area for evidence.

The identity of the victim and the conditions of those injured was not clear.

The restaurant was described as a mom-and-pop eatery.
