The New Jersey State Police say they have arrested a South Jersey man for sending threatening messages on Facebook telling people they were going to die soon.
Troopers arrested Craig L. Wyatt Jr., 20, of Hamilton Township after a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
In July, NCMEC notified the New Jersey State Police that an individual using the name Jimmy Raketerra sent a threatening message to a juvenile from Browns Mills, N.J.
On August 3rd, state police detectives were contacted by Voorhees police for assistance with four separate juvenile victims receiving threats via Facebook.
21-police departments reported individuals threatened by the same person after a bulletin was sent to all New Jersey law enforcement agencies.
Detectives say they linked Wyatt, Jr. to the messages. They arrested him at his home on Wednesday morning.
They say he admitted to using multiple Facebook accounts, email addresses, and phone numbers to threaten his victims. He would tell them that they had a few weeks left to live, so they should spend their time wisely.
Wyatt Jr. was charged with multiple counts of terroristic threats, theft of services, and harassment.
He was being held in the Atlantic County Jail in default of $35,000 bail.
The state police says that criminal charges are also pending from these law enforcement agencies: Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Bellmawr, Bordentown, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Deptford, Denville, Eastampton, Egg Harbor, Evesham, Florham Park, Gloucester Twp., Hamilton Twp. (Atlantic County), Merchantville, Mount Holly, Pemberton, Southampton, Toms River, and Voorhees.
