HAMPSTEAD, Md. -

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says more than 50 vehicles were broken into or vandalized in a Hampstead neighborhood.

Deputies say more than $1,300 in portable electronics, change, jewelry and other property were taken from car parked in driveways early Sunday.

The Carroll County Times (http://bit.ly/RZ1m6R) reports that four vehicles were pushed from the driveway; one traveled across the street and hit a tree. Damage for all vehicles was more than $6,000. 

More than $1,300 in portable electronics, change, jewelry and other valuables were taken from 50 unlocked vehicles and five locked ones parked in driveways along Broadmoor and Glenside courts and Woldholme, Allview and Schaefer drives, according to a news release from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

One car had its tires slashed, a convertible Jeep top was also slashed and four vehicles were pushed from their driveway, including one which traveled across the street and struck a tree. The damage is estimated to exceed $6,000, according to the Sheriff's Office.
