NEW YORK (AP) -

A woman who was pepper sprayed during an Occupy Wall Street protest in 2011 has filed a civil suit against the New York Police Department and the officer involved.

Kaylee Dedrick's suit was filed Monday in federal court in Manhattan. It names the city, the NYPD, Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna and other officers as the defendants, and seeks monetary damages.

Dedrick's attorney Ron Kuby pointed out the suit was filed on the first anniversary of the incident. Video of the event shows a group of women getting hit with pepper spray by an officer, who was later identified as Bologna.

Kuby has said Dedrick is shown reacting in pain in the video.

The city's corporation counsel did not immediately comment on the lawsuit.
