80-year-old pedestrian killed when cars collide on UES

Police say an 80-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a car that went spinning toward him after colliding with another vehicle on the Upper East Side Saturday night.
According to police, a black 2000 Mazda sedan was traveling eastbound on East 59th Street around 10:30 p.m. when it struck a silver 2011 Toyota Siena heading north on Park Avenue.
The impact of the collision sent the Mazda sedan spinning toward Rubin Baum and a 62-year-old woman who were standing at the street corner, striking both victims.
Authorities said the Baum was trapped under the car sustained severe trauma and the woman suffered a leg injury.
EMS took both victims to New York Cornell Hospital where Baum was pronounced dead. The unidentified woman is listed in stable condition.
