DETROIT (MyFox Detroit) -

Detroit Police are searching for a shooter that pumped a car full of bullets with a little boy sitting in the backseat. Thankfully that child survived and is recovering at Children's Hospital where we're told he is in serious condition.

A car riddled with bullet holes pulled up at the Fairview Manor Apartments Thursday night with a seriously injured child inside. The two-year-old boy was shot in the arm. His mother rushed to the apartment complex where his cousin lives for help.

"Then I heard the girl screaming, 'All my god, all my god!', and she told somebody to call the police. By the time I came outside, they (were) already rushing out, taking the baby," said a neighbor, who did not want to be identified.

The neighbor heard the commotion and also said she heard gunshots, but investigators believe the boy was shot a few blocks away in the area of Lillibridge and Canfield.

The boy's mother said someone she didn't know walked out of a vacant field and started firing at her car.

Investigators said an argument among some adults may have led to the toddler's shooting, but it is not clear what prompted the fight.

At this time, there is no good description of a suspect.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or Detroit Police.
