People who live near a construction site of of affordable housing building and a children's museum at 155th Street and St. Nicholas in Harlem are fed up with the vibrations and digging that last into the night.

But according to reports, the late-night work is not against any rule. The city granted crews a special variance. That means they can work double shifts all day and into the night. The variance allows work can go until midnight.

After residents complained, representatives from Broadway Housing Communities said crews will stop at 11 p.m.

Residents told Fox 5 the work goes on until later.

No one from the company would answer our questions at the site.

Signs now hang on walls inside inviting residents to a community meeting calling for construction to end earlier in the day.
