'Superhero' pleads guilty to disorderly conduct

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -

A northwestern New Jersey man who caused a stir when he walked through a store parking lot in a Batman-style outfit shortly after a deadly mass shooting at a Colorado movie theater has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

Matthew Argintar entered his plea Tuesday in Mansfield Township Court.

Argintar was arrested after several concerned store patrons called 911. The incident occurred less than two weeks after the deadly shootings at a screening of the latest Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises,"

The 23-year-old Warren County man, who also goes by "Beast," tells The Express-Times of Easton, Pa. that he didn't intend to scare anyone by dressing in the costume. But he won't give up on a life of heroics, which includes "patrols" of a 10-mile area near his home.
