A grand jury has indicted a teacher from Clifton High School for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy who is a student at the school, according to the Passaic County prosecutor.

Kristin Leone, 27, was arrested back in May and released on $100,000 bail. She is accused of having a sexual contact with the boy on at least two occasions, authorities said.

Authorities accused Leone of touching the boy sexually in a classroom during a tutoring session and later having sexual intercourse with him at her home, according to a report.

But during a court appearing after her initial arrest, Leone pleaded not guilty.

The grand jury indicted Leone on one count of Sexual assault, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of luring and enticing a child, two counts of criminal sexual contact, and two counts of official misconduct, the prosecutor said.

The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and the Clifton Police Department conducted a joint investigation and based their case on interviews and evidence collected during a search warrant.
