Long Island boy dies after fence falls

A Bayville toddler has died after a fence he was playing near, fell onto him and lacerated his head.

It happened Monday at 4:55 p.m. at Ransom Beach.  Nassau County police say the chain link fence was unattached before it fell.

The boy, identified as Phillip Amico, was airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center.

Amico died Tuesday at about 4 a.m.

Police say the incident was ruled an accident and no criminality was involved.
