MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - Long Island authorities say that the head of the NYPD's counterterrorism division is being considered for the position of assistant commissioner of Nassau police.
Michael Blake is a 26-year veteran of the NYPD who headed the counterterrorism division until July.
Nassau police declined to provide details except to say that Blake was 1 of many candidates being considered for the post.
Blake told Newsday he hopes Nassau is still interested and will make a decision soon.
Last week, a jury rejected a New York City police officer's claim that she was harassed by Blake and another NYPD supervisor.
Blake said he feels vindicated by the verdict.
Thomas Dale, a 41-year veteran of the NYPD, became Nassau County police commissioner earlier this year.
