Police say a motorcyclist was fatally killed when he tried to make a u-turn and was hit by a taxi cab, pinning him against the side of a double-decker tourist bus in Harlem Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say the CitySights NY bus was packed with tourists and was heading east on 125th Street when it stopped at a red light at the corner of Lenox Avenue around 2:45 p.m.

The motorcyclist, 53-year-old Juan Velez of Mount Vernon, was riding a Yamaha bike tried to make the U-turn to get away from the slow moving bus when a taxi came out of nowhere and pinned him against the bus.

Three U.S. Marines who were at the scene attempted to help Velez by giving him CPR and trying to revive him before EMS arrived to the horrific location.

Velez was rushed to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The taxi driver took responsibility for the accident and, according witnesses, quoted in the New York Post was not looking at the road because he was looking for a fare.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
