Police search for hit-and-run suspect in the Bronx

A 24-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was the victim of a hit-and-run in the Bronx early Saturday morning.

Police say the victim was crossing Webster Avenue near Fordham University, when a silver 2001 Volkswagen Passat struck him around 3:00 a.m.

Authorities said the driver fled the scene and left the car in a nearby parking lot.

Police found the car a few blocks away with damage to the front end and the windshield. Police are still looking for the driver

The unidentified victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
