A Roosevelt elk calf that was born at the Queens Zoo in July is now on display to visitors, the Wildlife Conservation Society announced.

It is the first Roosevelt elk calf to be born at the zoo since 2003. The mother and calf live on the zoo's plains with four other Roosevelt elk, WCS said.

The Roosevelt elk is one of the largest-bodied animals in North America and live mostly in the forests of the Pacific Northwest.

The Queens Zoo is located in Flushing Meadows Corona Park
