Police are investigating the apparent stabbing death of an 85-year-old woman in Brooklyn.

The woman's brother told cops he found Gloria Cadet's body on the floor of her apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant, leaning on the couch, and with a towel around her head.

The NYPD said her body didn't show any obvious signs of trauma at first, and suspected that she had died of natural causes.

But her family told Fox 5 that the funeral parlor removed the towel, found a puncture wound, and contacted police.

Her family said Cadet has 16 grandchildren.
