Search for suspects in 'pigeon drop' scam

A woman in Brooklyn was conned into giving two thieves thousands of dollars in jewels and cash in what is called a 'pigeon drop' scam, according to police.

Pigeon is the French worked for 'someone easily fooled.'

Police released video of the two suspects Wednesday seen approaching the 53-year-old victim on August 28 near E. 16th St. and Kings Highways.

The suspects told the woman they had a bag of money they would share if she gave them an advance fee, according to police.

The victim agreed and the suspects took her to a local bank and her home for $50,000 in jewels and $16,000 in cash, the N.Y. Daily News reported.

The suspects gave the woman a bank bag which she later discovered was full of paper, the paper added.

The thieves are described by police a black, in their 40s-50s last seen wearing dark colored wigs and dark sunglasses.

They drove off in a dark colored Audi.
