Former Jets player accused of NY labor violations

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -

Former New York Jets player Wayne Chrebet has been accused of labor violations at his Long Island restaurant.

The U.S. Department of Labor said Wednesday that a settlement is in the works.

The civil complaint alleges that Chrebet paid less than minimum wage and failed to pay overtime at his Social Sports Kitchen in Uniondale, N.Y.

A lawyer for Chrebet did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Chrebet played 11 seasons as a wide receiver for the Jets from 1995 to 2005.

The complaint was filed Friday in federal court in Central Islip.
