Middletown police say a 12-year-old boy collapsed while playing basketball at a park Saturday night.
Police arrived at Tindall Park on Tindall Road in Middletown around 7:17 p.m. and found the young boy. The Port Monmouth First Aid squad took the boy to Riverview Hospital in Red Bank where he was listed in critical condition.
According to police, doctors were attempting to stabilize the unidentified boy in order to airlift him to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
