Sutton Place co-op to hold keys to public park gates

For years an exclusive co-op on Sutton Place has fought to hang on to a private waterfront area in its backyard, between East 56th and 57th streets.
Now the city has reclaimed the land and is turning most of the space into a public park. But there appears to be a problem. Design plans call for gates that will lock off the entrances to the park and the co-op building will hold the keys, DNAinfo.com reported.
