Woman discusses settlement in Patti Labelle lawsuit

Entertainment legend Patti Labelle and a neighbor reached a legal settlement following an altercation in their building's lobby in November of last year.

Roseanna Monk sued Labell after she allegedly threw water at Monk and her young daughter from a water bottle while yelling at the pair in their Riverside Boulevard building.

Monk spoke with Good Day New York on Friday about the incident and the $100,000 settlement.

"I was dealing with my luggage and she took a few steps away from me and got close to a revolving door. Labelle got upset and said: do you know were your child is? I thought it would end there, but it didn't. She just exploded; yelling screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing... she looked enraged. At the time she had a water bottle with her and she was dousing us with it while she was yelling at us," Monk told Good Day NY.

The kindergarten teacher said she didn't know who the lady was until later.

Monk sent Labelle a note asking for an apology but she never heard back.

Monk filed suit. The former neighbors reached a settlement of $100,000.

The settlement and the attorney's fee will be donated to the Hope and Heroes Fund, a childrens' cancer charity, according to Monk.
