An autopsy of human remains found in a wooded area off the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers, N.Y., found them to be that of an unidentified woman.

Police got a 911 call around 5:35 p.m. Tuesday about a suspicious garbage bag with a foul odor in the area of Rossmore Avenue and Illinois Avenue.

The remains were turned over to the Westchester County medical examiner's office. The autopsy on Wednesday did not determine the cause of her death, reported the Associated Press.

Retired NYPD sergeant John Doyle said he called police after a woman walking her dog told him she'd seen the bag near his property, reported LoHud.com.

Anyone with information that could help investigators should contact the Yonkers Detective Division at 914-377-7724 or via text to: tip411, followed by keyword: ypd and your tip information.
