Amber Alert Canceled After Kidnapped Toddler Found In Philly

Posted: Updated:

A 2-year-old child has been found safe in Philadelphia after being abducted late Tuesday night by three men who had a gun and stole a car, police said.

Tymire Dior Smith was taken from Upper Dublin Township in Montgomery County after three men attacked his father.

The boy was found early Wednesday morning wandering around 66th and Malvern streets in Philadelphia. He was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to be checked out.

The kidnapping and assault suspects are still on the loose, police said.

Pennsylvania State Police initially issued the Amber Alert, saying they were looking for the 2 1/2-feet-tall boy with noticeable sunburn on his left cheek who had been last seen at 10 p.m. in Upper Dublin wearing a Superman T-shirt, blue jeans, and black and blue colored sneakers.

State police reported that three black males with a handgun took the boy and were operating a dark-colored minivan. They had assaulted the boy's father and stolen a new, dark-colored Chrysler 300 with partial Pennsylvania registration of HYJ68.

Anyone who has information about this case was asked to call police by dialing 911.
