CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (MyFoxDetroit) -

Lightning struck Building 17 of "The Harbours" apartment complex in Clinton Township, causing an all too familiar scene. Just last Friday a blaze destroyed a portion of Building 16, right across the street.

After lightning struck during a storm on Tuesday, fire and EMS trucks were called to the scene. Fortunately the lightning did not cause an actual fire and the damage was minimal. There are a few electrical problems and some burned siding. Workers secured the building for smoke and small hot spot fires.

The fire last Friday has now been linked to cigarettes.  Several upper level apartments were destroyed. Several people were forced to move, some even to Building 17 where the bolt struck.
