Freeport police arrested a man Monday night in the death of a woman who died in a house fire early Monday morning.
Police say the 22-year-old Felicia Cassadean, mother of two, died after the fire broke out in her home on 117 Craig Avenue in Freeport around 6:00 a.m.
Cassadean's body was found in the front part of the house after the fire was extinguished by firefighters.
An officer who was responding to the house fire was flagged down by 49-year-old Loventino Cassadean of Freeport. After interviewing Cassadean the officer placed Cassadean under arrest without incident.
Neighbors say the victim lived with her two boys who are currently in Guyana visiting relatives.
According to New York Post, Cassadean had been feuding with her husband.
Cassadean is charged with Murder Second Degree and will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in First District Court, Hempstead.
