Police say four people were stabbed inside a Bronx playground Saturday evening.

Authorities said the violence happened around 10:00 p.m. at the Half-Nelson Playground on Nelson Avenue between Featherbed Lane and W. 174th Street in the University Heights section.

The stabbing was the result of a dispute during a basketball game that left three females, ages 39, 19, 18 and one male, 17 with stab wounds.

According to the police the 18-year-old was stabbed in the torso and is in serious but stable condition, and 39-year-old was stabbed in the back. The 19-year-old female was stabbed in the stomach and the 17-year-old male in the right arm.

EMS took three victims to St. Barnabas Hospital and one victim to Lincoln Hospital. All are in stable condition according to the police.

Police have made no arrests and their investigation is ongoing.

Saturday night's incident increases the number to 23 people being shot or stabbed at city parks and playgrounds this summer in the city. Since July, 17 people have been shot -- four fatally -- and six people were stabbed, one fatally, according data compiled by NYC Park Advocates.
