The Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end to summer.
New Yorkers in the area made the most of the city beaches trying to enjoy the warm water, sand, hanging out with family and friends and catching some rays.
After the holiday weekend lifeguards will no longer be on duty at New York City beaches and outdoor pools until next year.
Beaches are open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and pools are open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
