MYFOXNY.COM -

About 50,000 people who live in Co-Op City in the Bronx finally have electricity after overnight problems.

The last of the 35 high-rise buildings in the massive project had power restored at about 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The power went out just after midnight when the generator that provides power to the complex died.  Con Edison stepped in and is now providing temporary power to the complex.

Four people had to be transported to hospitals with minor injuries and 27 people had to be rescued from elevators.

One person complained that there were no emergency lights in the lobbies of the buildings.
