A 17-year-old girl was among four people were shot early Wednesday morning at a Mount Vernon bar.

It happened at about 1:50 a.m. at Gardens Bar & Grill on 5th Avenue in the city's south side.  It was unclear if the shooting started inside the bar or outside in the parking lot.

Police say along with the teen, three men, ages 28, 32 and 38, were shot.  The girl was shot in the left thigh and right calf and suffered a broken femur.

The 28-year-old victim was hit in his femoral artery and underwent surgery at Jacoby Medical Center.

Police say the victims were attending a party at the bar.

No arrests have been made and Mount Vernon detectives continue to investigate the case.

The mayor of Mount Vernon said that, while there is no evidence of it in this shooting, the city has seen an increase in New York City party promoters coming into Mount Vernon.

"We want to send the message that Mount Vernon will not be the path of least resistance for those eager to seek retribution or those ready to make a fast buck," Mayor Ernest D. Davis said.  "We will vigorously monitor these types of parties that reduce quality of life in this community."
