What makes people happy?

What makes you happy? Is it your job or income, the number of cars you own or the amount in your bank account?

Most countries measure how well they're doing with the gross domestic product, how much is bought and sold in a year. But an increasing number of people around the world are asking themselves: While money can be a measure of success, is it the ultimate measurement of happiness?

For those who think that money would buy them happiness, Dr. Jeff Gardere, adjunct clinical professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, says not so fast; that's not necessarily the case.

He says his advice for anyone who is unhappy to look at the small things in life that bring them gratitude, that bring them happiness, and to count their blessings.
