The NYPD is investigating the death of a woman who was found lying in a pool of her own blood in an apartment building stairwell on the Lower East Side.
Carlisle Brigham, 29, was found bleeding from the neck, sources said.
Police are investigating if she may have inflicted the wounds on herself or if someone stabbed her before she fell down some stairs.
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
The woman was staying with a friend at the building, according to some reports.
