2 men shot and killed at separate house parties on L.I.

Suffolk County Police are investigating the shooting deaths of two men in separate house parties on Long Island. 

Police arrived at 69 Yarnell Street in Brentwood around 10:10 p.m. Saturday night and found 27-year-old Douglas Martinez of Bay Shore in the front yard with gunshot wounds. 

Martinez was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.  

A few hours' later police were called to 568 Centerwood Street in West Babylon around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning to discover 18-year-old Rashad Capers lying in the street.  

Authorities say Capers had been shot a short distance away in front of 25 St. Johns Place. Capers was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.  

Police have made no arrests and their investigation is ongoing in both cases.
