NEW YORK (AP) - One of the victims of a shooting outside the Empire State Building said he was shot in the arm by a police officer.
Robert Asika said he is 100 percent positive it was an officer who shot him Friday morning.
Police said Jeffrey Johnson, 58, shot a former co-worker to death outside the landmark skyscraper.
Asika was in the area selling tickets to the building's observatory.
He said the gunman shot at police officers and they returned fire. Asika said he didn't realize at first that he had been hit by a police bullet.
Police said Johnson was killed by officers after fatally shooting Steven Ercolino. Nine other people were shot. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly acknowledged that some victims might have been shot by officers.
