Teen shot and killed in the Bronx

A 13-year-old boy was shot in the back and killed Friday in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.

Police responded to a 911 call about a male shot at Tapscott Street and Blake Avenue at about 12:42 a.m.

Ronald Wallace of Brownsville was found with one gunshot wound in the back, said police.

He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Wallace is now among a string of young shooting victims injured or killed in the city this summer.

A four-year-old boy was shot and killed at a basketball game at Rucker Park in the Bronx earlier this summer.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg has repeatedly blamed the senseless deaths on lax gun control laws across the country that make it easy for thugs to get their hands on illegal weapons.
