Shooting near Yankee Stadium

The NYPD is investigating a shooting that happened steps from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx Thursday afternoon.

A man wearing a suit shot two men outside a diner at East 161 Street and Gerard Avenue, according to DNAinfo.com.

The gunman then dropped his gun, put his hands up, and surrounded to court officers, DNAinfo.com reported.

EMS confirmed one man was shot in the stomach and has been rushed to Lincoln Hospital.

The area has numerous eateries, bars, souvenir shops, convenience stores, and street vendors.

Many of the stores cater to baseball fans who come to see the game at the stadium or watch at one of several Yankees-themed pubs.
