DETROIT (WJBK) -

Gov. Rick Snyder has joined Detroit Mayor Dave Bing at the grand opening of an auto parts supply company expected to employ about 500 people.

Detroit Manufacturing Systems on the city's west side is expected to bring hundreds of high-tech, automotive interior component assembly jobs to the city. The event was held Wednesday morning.

It's a joint venture between the Rush Group and French auto parts maker Faurecia SA.

The Rush Group and Faurecia SA have said the venture expects to have about 500 workers in Detroit within the next three years. Detroit Manufacturing Systems has a long-term contract with Ford Motor Co.

Detroit Manufacturing Systems has received state and local tax credits and incentives.

Those interested in applying for the positions can contact Detroit Employment Solutions at 313-962-9675.
