A man crossing East 233rd Street and Barnes Avenue in the Bronx was struck and killed by the driver of a white box truck who fled the scene, according to police.

The deadly hit-and-run occurred at about 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday in the Wakefield section of the borough.

Cops responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck and found the 26-year-old man with severe head trauma, police added.

Jermaine Elliot, of the Bronx, was rushed to Jacobi Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD says the truck was traveling northbound on Barnes Avenue and made a left turn onto East 233rd Street and struck the man.

Police are looking for the driver.
