Injuries reported in Queens building fire

Twenty-one people were injured including 19 firefighters in a fire at a three-story building in Flushing, Queens, said fire officials.

The blaze erupted at about 2:55 a.m. Monday and was brought under control at about 5:56 a.m., according to FDNY officials.

No life-threatening injuries were reported.

The firefighters were treated at a local hospital and were expected to recover. Two civilians were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.

The building at 143-05 45th Ave. is made up of a laundromat on the ground level and apartments above.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
