Woman missing after boat sinks in L.I. Sound

The Coast Guard is searching the waters of Long Island Sound after a woman disappeared when the boat she was on hit a rock and sank Sunday afternoon. 

Coast Guard officials say they received a distress call around 2:30 p.m. that a 50-foot boat named Priceless hit a Pulpit Rock near Fisher's Island and sank with 10 passengers on board. 

Nine if the people on board and a dog were rescued. 

Officials said the missing woman was in the boat's cabin when it sank. 

The Coast Guard said the boat departed from Westerly, R.I. and was headed to Mystic, CT. Rescue units from Connecticut have joined in the search. 

Fisher's Island is about nine miles long and is located off Southold at the eastern end of Long Island Sound.
