Police officers suspended after drug tests

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -

Two members of the Bridgeport Police Department's Narcotics and Vice Unit have tested positive for drug use.

Police Chief Joseph Gaudett says Officer Ivan Clayton and Officer David Uliano have been placed on administrative leave, with pay, as a result of the positive tests.

The Connecticut Post reports officials are considering shutting down the unit and the Tactical Narcotics Team and having state police handle those investigations.

The chief declined to elaborate on the suspensions.
