Driver ordered to stay away from summer camp

Posted: Updated:

THOMPSON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have ordered a food truck driver to stay away from a summer camp in southeastern New York after police charged him with trespassing on the property.

State police say troopers were called to Camp Shalva in the Sullivan County town of Thompson on Aug. 9 for a report of a man spotted in areas of the camp that he wasn't authorized to be in. Troopers say 21-year-old Yoel Oberlander of Monsey in Rockland County had been seen inside a boys' dormitory after delivering kosher milk to the camp.

Oberlander was charged with criminal trespass. A town judge also issued an order of protection on behalf of the campers that prohibits Oberlander from returning to the property or contacting any residents.

He's free on bail. It couldn't be determined if he had a lawyer.
