Ironman organizer John Korff talked about the Aquadraat Sports Ironman U.S. Championship in New York and New Jersey.
This is the first Ironman triathlon in the New York metropolitan area. He also talked about the recent sewage spill and how it may affect Saturday's competition.
More than 2,500 athletes will compete.
The race starts at Ross Dock in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and finishes in Riverside Park in Manhattan.
Athletes will swim 2.4 miles in the Hudson River, bike 112 miles along the Palisades Parkway, and then run 26.2 miles into New York City.
