Regina Margherita Pizza (12-inch pie)
Regina means it is made with buffalo mozzarella and cherry tomatoes.
9 oz "00" flour pizza dough stretched to 12 inches (at home, mix with all-purpose flour)
1/2 cup Crushed Imported San Marzano Tomato sauce
4 Jersey fresh basil
12 cherry tomatoes (cut in halves)
8 oz imported mozzarella di bufala
Organic extra virgin olive oil
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Drizzle the organic olive oil over the pizza shell. Use a brush to spread it around and make sure to get the crust!
Spread the fresh basil leaves.
Place dabs of the mozzarella cheese throughout the top.
Add a little Parmesan cheese (optional).
Cook the pizza in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until sufficiently crispy and melted to your liking.
Add fresh tomato halves across the entire pizza once cooked.
Note: if you are using all "00" flour in a standard oven, it will take much longer. This flour requires high heat, such as our 900-degree oven.
