Infant falls out window in the Bronx

Posted: Updated:

A three-month-old girl fell out of a second-story window in the Edenwald section of the Bronx, according to police.

The infant was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition following the 8 p.m. incident on Tuesday.

Police say she struck an air conditioner unit before landing on a grassy spot below.

It was not immediately clear how the baby wound up falling out.

The girl's nine-year-old brother was reportedly the only person at the home on East 226th Drive when the incident occurred.

Police are investigating.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
