Country singer Randy Travis was arrested for the second time this year, this time on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
At least two different reports say Travis was naked when troopers found him lying in the road.
His mug shot shows him wearing a cape-like drape.
According to Trooper Mark Tackett, someone called 911 at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday to report a man lying on the side of FM 922 near Clover Road, just outside the town of Tioga.
Troopers found Travis' 1998 Pontiac Trans Am crashed into some construction barricades. Travis refused to take a sobriety test on the scene, but because he showed "several" signs of intoxication, troopers arrested him for DWI.
As troopers were transporting him to jail, DPS says Travis threatened to shoot and kill the lawmen working the case.
In addition to the misdemeanor DWI charge, Travis is charged with felony retaliation.
A search warrant was obtained and the DPS took a blood sample to determine the Grammy-award winner's blood alcohol level. The test results are still pending.
Travis was booked into the Grayson County Jail on DWI ($1,500 bond) and Retaliation ($20,000 bond).
This isn't the first time he's had a run-in with the law in Grayson County.
Travis was arrested back in February after an officer found him in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church of Sanger shortly after midnight. Travis was behind the wheel of the car, but was not driving it.
On that night, the singer, writer, and producer was booked on a public intoxication charge because the responding officer said his speech was "slurred." Travis said he'd recently fought with his girlfriend.
