Evana Roth and her attorney, Lenard Leeks, spoke out Wednesday about the fear she has that her estranged husband who remains missing could seek retribution on her for revealing an alleged plot to fake his death to claim insurance money.
There were reports Wednesday Raymond Roth had returned to the area.
"I'm actually in hiding, fearful he'll come after me for revealing his plan. Being in the public eye is just going to confirm what his plan actually was. I have nothing to hide. If I'm in the public eye he can't get to me," said Evana Roth during GDNY.
Roth said she stumbled upon the emails detailing the plot on the computer where she was trying to print something.
"It was a dysfunctional marriage for 12 years. There has been no communication since the finding of the emails," said Roth.
"He's threatened to kill his employer and son and we think she is in jeopardy," said Leeks.
Raymond Roth vanished on July 28. The massive air and water search cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Police believe Raymond Roth was in Florida after he went missing.
Then, last Thursday, he got a speeding ticket in Santee, S.C.
The officer who stopped him found Roth's name in a national registry of missing people. Roth said he was returning to New York, and the officer let him proceed north.
